Pictured here is the first scope to sit atop the Losmandy G-11, an old Orion Argonaut Maksutov-Cassegrain. In this image, it is configured for solar observing. The solar filter on the front of the lens blocks most of the sun’s intensity, allowing the observer to safely view the sun’s disk as well as sunspots. A very nice way to begin to understand our star.
